Nope sbs runs on computers.
You can add one track at the time to a playlist. note that Tiny SBs is

Thanks Soulkeeper.
My intention actually was to isolate the hard drive from my computer.
And, hook it up only when I need to add files into the hard drive. Can
the SBS be installed onto the hard drive itself and run without O/S

According to the manual, if I add a track into playlist

Have not updated my software. Still on 7.5.2 and no adds. There is
something in the software.

Today I've received a new IR remote from Logitech support and Touch is again

It took only one day from my letter for their response. The rest was
confirmation and shipment to my home address.
I have to admit that Logitech support is doing a great job and i hope that the
Hey, I've got the same problem. When I browse by artist I can see the

I couldn't find either of those for a reasonable price but saw a Seagate

I can confirm that it works fine.

The first thing to check is the ownership & permissions of a file that
your Touch has been able to index. Then check the ownership &
permissions of the recently added files skipped by the scan.
Using the ls -al command above, you'll get an output that looks
something like this:
[directory]$ ls
Thanks for the input. Not being au fait with ownerships and rights
under unix, what should I be looking for, what should they be and how
do I change them if required?

With the Touch you can either run 'SBS'
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Squeezebox_Server) from a

version of SBS, called 'TinySC'
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TinySC) on your Touch.

Have you checked to see if the file/directory ownership and permissions
of the newly ripped files are the same as the existing music?

What did you use to rip them? What format was used (FLAC, MP3, ALAC,
WMA)?
Are you certain these are not DRM protected when ripped?
OK, putting aside the fact that to access the Touch scanner files I have
to have a good working knowledge of computer systems (which your average
man in the street won't have) here's the latest position.
I attached the external drive directly to my PC and removed the music
directories that were n
