There really is no difference hardware wise. Idle means its not playing
anything, and sleep means its not playing anything and is displaying
the "sleep" screensaver. That's it. This means that the ONLY difference
between idle and sleep is that idle displays the idle screensaver and
sleep displays
The problem usually has to do with ALSA "card numbers". The music goes
to the "default" ALSA device. The schemes for USB change what actual
device is called "default" so the musiv goes to the USB DAC. The
"effects channel" is hardcoded to go to device 2. When a USB DAC is
plugged in it usually man
I don't have all the answers to that, but the screen turns off when the
Touch is "off", which makes it reasonable to think that the power
consumption goes down compared to screensaver/idle/stopped mode.

I've searched for an answer to this but I haven't yet found a lucid
answer.
What's the difference between the Touch idle (paused or stopped), sleep
and power off/standby states? I appreciate that it's never really 'off'
but am confused about the distinction. Does it automatically sleep

If there are no players shown, they are not connected to the servers,

Hi,
In spite of your good advice, we're trying one more time w/o local

We have iPeng up on one ipod touch for testing.
We set up "do not disconnect".
the ipeng only sees the servers on each SBT, no players, it says
clients are missing.
Is there special setup in the SBT, I assume we shoul
I've managed to get the Touch to play through a USB DAC but it seems to
have killed the internal sound effects. I've made sure the volume is up
and the appropriate options are selected, and tried several reboots. Is
this to be expected, and can I bring them back if so? If not, does

Maybe I interpreted the results incorrectly - but we are a long way from
the exchange and the maximum we're told we can receive is currently 2.25

Tried ethernet connection. Tried dropping Spotify streaming rate to
160kbps. No difference.
Did broadband speed test and returned download speed of just over
1mbps.
Downloaded Triode plug-in after reading some other forum posts - all
working 100% now.
Thanks and all the best,
Paul
