Yes. It even scans it but nothing happens after that. The HD

If you still have the other server running on a network computer, then
the Touch will (I think) still be connected

It is really getting annoying!
So far it has only happened when playing 96/24 flacs.
Not sure if this is related.
I have new rebuffering issues for internet radios.
It started a few days ago.

the player.
Unless SBS is having to transcode streams
tested again with computer and Touch connected to the same router with
excellent internet wired connection.

- I often have connection reset by local host or connection reset by
remote host on the Touch, and Touch stops playing.
Both running at the same time.

Yes, now try the Touch connected directly to MySB.com (no computer), see
if it streams correctly without buffering.
I simultaneously play 320k streams to 4 SB players including Touch
without issue. Sometimes Synced, sometimes 4 unique streams.
Connected to both SBS and MySB.com.

nearly completed my whole house audio. Ready to pull CAT5e to rooms

Hi John,
I've recently been in touch with the designer of my Audiolab 8200CDQ
DAC and described the symptoms of the intermittent clicks. Below I've
pasted his comments (this is based purely on my description of the
problem of course). Is this possibly pointing at an out of date USB

Thanks a lot for the hint. Unfortunately, it was already on the internal

How many files are on the USB drive? Because you have to let the server
finish the scan and that can take several hours with the Touch's
internal server and if you try to play music before it finishes it will
have issues. Or is it giving you an error of some kind?

Gary,
Thanks for the great response. It's clearer now about how much I don't
know.
I already returned a Netgear low end NAS. I researched it AFTER I got
it home. In my defense I had a Best Buy gift card burning a hole in my
pocket.
If you had a small collection of media, would a 1TB drive be
I have had the same problem with my SB touch with an SD card.
It was all down to having the write enable slider on the side of the SD
card set to 'read only' ie SB touch could not write to the SD card,
which stuffed everything up.
Phew! that was easy (for me anyway)

Everytime I change libraries, my Touch wants to do a software update. It
alternates between 7.5.1 and 7.5.4.
What's going on? Any clues appreciated

By changing libraries do you mean changing servers? Or changing between
SBS and mysqueezebox.com? It sounds as if one of the libraries is using
the current SBS version (7.5.4) and the other is using an outdated
version. Update the one with 7.5.1 to 7.5.4 and the Touch will be
happy.

Thanks Rayman. I noticed that it takes the Squeezebox a long time to
finish. I've given it 24 hours but there is no indication that it is

I would begin by testing it with a much smaller library on the hard
drive first.

- Don't worry so much about going down a wrong path. Once you've
ripped and tagged your CD library _properly_, you'll realize that the
library itself is the most important single component of a PC based
audio system. You can change the hardware in the future if you want,
but the music
+1 on careful ripping to FLAC. From someone who ripped about 4 to 5

I purchased the SB-Touch today because I wanted to stream music from my

up and running in about 30 minutes. Installing the Squeezbox server on
the nas was easy just follow the step by step guide on the logitech
