Using the Touch's own server is a very good workaround to the server
update loop. But, yes, it must have either a USB or SD card attached
to function.
BTW: look around your home, in those old junk drawers, might find an
old SD card laying around, my Touch is using an ancient 65mb SD card

my touch just got an update today. so, i had to redo Soundcheck tweak.
first, tt -i command stated it was already initialized. and tt -s
produced a bunch of errors i did not see before.
i guess Soundcheck is not quite compatible with the latest firmware.

Hello!
On iTunes I have all music with artwork / cover art. When playing the
music on Touch some of the albums do not display the picture. How is
that possible or even better how to solve this?
Thanks!

I am a bit puzzled.
I have had the Touch for some months now and when I installed it it was
with 7.6.1
The server has never been updated since the instal.
Yet the Touch has only starting asking me to update now!

The latest server is 7.7.1 - mysb.com has also the same settings. So,
if you don't update, then you are always going to get a prompt whenever
you go via mysb.com. If you update then switch off automatic updates,
you won't get a firmware prompt until mysb.com is updated sometime in
the future.

Did you do a factory reset *after* updating the firmware *but before*
reinstalling TT3.0?
If not, that was most likely the problem.
Guido F.
Yeah, absolutely. The factory reset will wipe the TT files clean.
Fortunately, if you don't need to do the factory reset,
so let me make sure i understand...
after a firmware update, i must do a factory reset to delete or
uninstall soundcheck?
is there a way to opt out of firmware update 'cause i do not recall i
had a choice?

If I recall correctly you can do a left-to-right swipe to suppress the
fw update.

I would certainly try, first, to delete the TT 3.0 files if
Resetting the touch is a definate pain in the ass. You have to do all
the recommended touch setting on it again, specifically logging. Ugg.
I'm going to use tt to revert back to rollback tt. Upgrade the
firmware. Extract the tt tar file again. Tweek the tt file to my
taste. Initialize tt
I got it today, and I have to say: this is an amazing device! Setting it
up was a breeze. I connected it to my Home Theater system: a flagship
Pioneer receiver and Axiom speakers. I connected it to my network
through ethernet cable and it started to work right away.
I was able to connect it to
yeah, i dread resetting and re-doing everything! tt -s shows most
important mods to be enabled: wi-fi and ir. the priority mod is the
one creating the errors.
just deleting tt in /usr/bin doesn't do the trick as expected.
since touch sounds good, i think i'll just live with it as is. for

OK, success at last! Entire USB drive scanned, all artwork pre-cached
