My understanding is the Touch does not support anything above 24/96.
When using LMS/SbS on your PC, the software coverts 24/192 to 24/96 and
sends to your Touch. The Touch is not seeing the 24/192.
The server in the Touch itself does not have enough computing power to
make this conversion,

24/96 max.
You'll need to downsample - then it will play.

There is no element of personal attack in my response.
fr8dog,
If you are using either digital out from the Touch then the Touch's DAC
is not being used.
I think what you are asking is why can't the Touch's TinySC server
just send the 24/192 file to my external DAC via digital out as it does
with any other files on the Touch's USB or SD?.

I don't know about logs, but a random thought: What if your server clock
is drifting, and was 2 minutes ahead when the Squeezeboxes connected to
it.
Then the Squeezeboxes synced to your server, and got the wrong time.
Then your server synced to an NTP server and received the correct
time.
Try:
Code:

Touch's ip address. You

This is still consistent with my scenario, provided that:
1) The SqueezeOS players don't -continuously- sync their clocks against
LMS.
2) Your NAS doesn't -continuously- sync its clock against an NTP
server.
But if you know for certain that your NAS clock never drifts, my

While I don't have a Dynaco amp, I have connected my SBT to various
other Tube amps I own. The SBT will drive all of them. I have not
measured the output voltage of the Touch, but it seems to be a little
less than the CD player I use.

Yes, it is possible. It is covered in the wiki:
'Enjoying your music from another place'

'Connecting remotely'

Well I have just picked up an Ipad and loaded the Ipad Ipeng app onto
it. What can I say, WOW, what a difference to my old Ipod touch,
absolutely fantastic, just what I was hoping for.
Cheers Ipeng

I have a Touch, working well from my Windows 7 desktop. It also can
work from my iMac simultaneously (i.e., the Touch recognizes and can
use both computers as servers), but I have uninstalled the server

Last night I installed the server software (newly
Try doing it the other way around: go to the Touch and have it look for

Hi to one and all...
Joining the forum as I have just purchased a Squeezebox Touch to
replace my old Cyrus dadQ24 CD player that finally gave up...been
browsing here for a couple of weeks and this looks like a great place
for info and support.
Set up has gone well - in fact it was very easy.
The Touch and Radio keep their own time using the linux system time
which is kept in software based on the processor clock, which is not
particularly accurate. A 2 minute drift is definitely possible, but it
usually takes several days to get that far off. The Touch has a
separate hardware clock
First make sure the touch's digital volume is way up (above 80%). In
fact try it at 100%. Also make sure you haven't got bit rate limiting
turned on in your LMS settings under player, audio tab. If you do it
may be converting to low bit rate mp3 files before streaming.

It also says I don't have LAME installed (whatever that is...).
Could this be the problem? Install LAME and have Quality

I've looked at this fairly extensively now, the primary issue is the
ALSA driver, it does not support 192 (or 176). The S/PDIF data stream
comes directly out of the processor which contains a bunch of registers

Try reripping a few of your CDs to FLAC, using EAC (ExactAudioCopy),
which is free, or dBpoweramp, which is free to try for 30 days.
Set either up for secure ripping.
That way you'll get accurate rips. WMP rips a lot more quickly, but is
not as accurate.
Then compare the WMP12 rips to the FLAC

I take it you are using the Touch's analog outputs? If so, then my
first guess is that you have gotten very used to the old CDP's DAC, and
the sound of the Touch's DAC is jarring because...it's different.
Before
I also found the dac in the touch to be bright and just plain boring
