I've followed your posts on pink fish and had been delighted with the
usb plug in going into mdac via usb hub. all was working well until a
couple of days ago when i uploaded the new audio lab firmware and its
all gone to pieces-dac not recognised,crashes etc. this is only on usb

Hoping someone can help. I have a problem that when I switch from
mysqueezebox.com to my squeezebox server running on a Readynas Duo and
try to play music the track plays, but there is no sound. In order to
get sound I have to switch back to mysqueezebox.com and then go to My

As before, all I can say is that the Echo ZE 32GB still works for me...
I got it at a cheap price two years ago, and now there are plenty of
cheaper sticks that you could always find another use for if they didn't
work with the Touch. The appeal of the ZE (not SE, ME, or ZX...) was in

perhaps there is an option there, didn't notice. but mostly VBA is
designed for folks to simply insert disk and magically have ripped music
in the right place with the right tags

Personally, I found that uncompressed FLAC sounds (marginally) better to
my ears than level 5 compression, which I had been using for a while.

You, indeed, can change the VBA's flac compression level by editing the
/etc/ripit/conifg file. The default is set at 5.
I use iPeng (on an iPad 1), too and find it quite snappy.

If you already are in a ssh session just type reboot at the prompt and
hit enter.
