I guess, the test version shows, that they have been working on it.
However, it seems that

I have decided to sell my SB Touch and was testing it before selling it
on.
Without the SB Server installed on any of my machines - should I not be
able to connect wirelessly to my network and play internet radio etc?
MY SB Touch recognises my network but when I try and enter the WEP key
it
Correct, no local server needed to play internet radio. But it does
need a www.MySqueezeBox.com account so that it can connect to that
server online.
Tried with router encryption temporarily turned off? Sure it is trying
to connect to your network? WiFi SSID name is unique to your router?
If
I checked mysqueezebox.com and my account is still there and active - I
wouldnt think that was an issue though because it cant connect to be
able to detect it? The router SSID is unique and the signal strength is
excellent, I cant think what else to do because when you turn the SB on

Needing a MySB.com account was in reference to your question of playing
internet radio absent a local LMS server. Nothing to do with connecting
the player to your network. ;)
Yes, it should work with WEP. I'm suggesting a temporary connection
with no encryption to verify it is indeed WEP

I've been checking out the specs for the Benchmark DAC and from my
limited understanding they look impressive. Although I did not want to
go $1200, if the fidelity is much improved, then it is manageable (may
have to break the wife into it gently).
What are the advantages
To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I can really tell much difference
between the transporter, benchmark, or touch analog out. I have a pretty
good system too. I'm in my 50s with all the normal age related hearing
loss (high freqs).
Bottom line: if you are expecting a wow, I've never heard the
What kind of wep code ? Some require you to use some hex ASCII

Great work Triode!
It worked flawlessly with files of all sample rates on my DCS Debussy

main system (i.e. with the Debussy), it sounds great and SQ is very
close to what I get with a MacBook Air and Pure Music.

Great advice! I'll check at local stereo shops. Thank you .

I have turned off the WEP encryption on my router and the SB Touch
connects fine wirelessly. However, when I turn the encryption back on
the SB still wont connect.
Does anyone have any ideas? see above - I think Ive tried everything
short of changing from a WEP key which I stated I cant change
It's not working for me. A long touch on the track I want to play next
is just bringing up the details for that track, not a pop-up menu. What
am I doing wrong? Also, if anyone knows how to create a command, or a
series of commands on a Harmony remote to do this, I'd appreciate it.
I take it the Benchmark DAC USB would be preferable to the DAC1. Is the
BM USB a more updated version?
Is a USB connection superior to optical out? Thank you.
Ikabob's Profile:
Yes, newer version. And having optical, spdif, and USB gives one every
option. I like having balanced analog outs as well. Transporter has
these as well.
garym's Profile:
The hex ASCII conversion is not for the router but for the Touch, the
idea was to try that on the Touch.

Is your Touch wirelessly connected? Sometimes routers have a separate
VLAN for wireless or have LAN isolation switched on by default, which
means your wireless devices can see the internet but not other
ethernet-connected devices.
