I have managed to pick up one of the last Touch's available at Currys
for £89 - bargain! My original SBR is now in my daughter's room where
she controls it with her phone and is very happy.

Guessing your Favorites were stored on LMS on your laptop. No laptop,
no LMS, no Favorites on LMS. :)

IIRC, the Blank screensaver leaves the display backlight on (plainly
visible in a darkened room). The Display Off screensaver does exactly
that.
After some trial-and-error, I have gotten my SBT to play my library
drive's files using either my laptop or my fit-PC to run LMS--but only
via my wireless network (the trials and errors involved getting a valid
IP address into the SBT; I don't know why the SBT couldn't configure its
network

Nope, they are fairly generic terms that apply to Windows as well as

I dunno'I have Triode's screen off app installed but my Touch still
glows in the dark even though the screen is, indeed, blank/off. It
would appear that something (the backlight?) is still on. Wonder if
that's normal or if the screen off app is not functioning properly?
