I have no experience with the M1.
That said, even though the SBT internal DAC is good, there are lots of
DACs out there that are more transparent. I use a DSPeaker Dual

The DSPeaker anti mode is a digital room EQ/DRC unit with its own DAC ,
so it's not the same as a typical standalone DAC .

This morning the display on my Touch froze. I could still
play music through it using Squeezepad or Squeezecommander, but no

You say you cannot decline the update. Have you tried swiping the screen
when the update notice appears. I do not remember if it is left to right
or right to left, but that is the normal way to avoid the updates. Hope
this helps. The frozen screen could be another issue tho.
