If it's really the case that it doesn't work as expected, I'd ask the
manufacturer. Perhaps it's broken. Perhaps there

If you don't mind resampling -all- FLAC to 24/48 and the Touch has a
fixed IP you can do this with SoX and a custom-convert.conf. Having
said that I'll need to let someone with more expertise tell you how.
It's going to look something like this:

Is there a way to make LMS think that the limit of the Touch is 48kHz? I
am passing the digital signal to my BK Reference 31 which, contrary to
the manual, seems to only play 48k files (manual says it will do 96/24
D/A conversion and is capable of processing 96/24 digital source
material). I
I unchecked some plugins on the Touch. Specifically the ones that were
for different models (Digital Inputs, Line In, Line Out, Slim Tris), the
UPnP/DLNA Media Interface, and the iTunes integration. The display on
the BK now identifies the files as 96kHz, but still no sound. Taking a
cue from

HD tracks 24/96 should play just fine which format did you buy ? Try

All the files are flac. I can try converting to wav. I think I can do
that in Foobar. I'll check this evening.

If you use LMS flac 24/96 flac should work without problems ?
One problem can be optical not all optical inputs supports 24/96 try
coax
Thanks
I've been using the coax out. I am beginning to wonder if the

At least your Squeezebox is talking to the BK Reference 31 now.
There's quite a big possibility that your DVD player tops out at 24/48
or 20/48 over the SPDIF connections.
More to the point, there's a possibility that the BK can only handle up
to 24/48 on its inputs.

I dont know your DVD player but a test could be to burn a DVDV disc

Do BK have some direct mode or similar ? some of the processors and HT

In that case keeping it 24/48 would be preferable as losing important

Thanks Stratmangler and Mnyb. I ended up resetting the Squeezebox Touch
(by accident, truth be told). When it came back up it would play flacs I
had ripped from CD (16 bit, 44.1kHz) and some 24 bit, 48kHz flacs from
archive.org. But it won't play any of the 24 bit, 96kHz from HD Tracks

I am trying to set up a BK Reference 31 that I just bought. When I plug
in the coax digital out, the Ref 31 doesn't see any digital signal. I
tested the input with a DVD player and it recognized the digital signal
from a CD played in the DVD player. The Ref 31 is only going to read a
PCM file.
