Will 176/192K playback be possible using Coax connection and running the
USB output App? Or do you have to be using an actual USB connection?
176.4/192kHz playback works via Coax and USB but not at the same time.
You have to decide if you want to use the USB connection or Coax
The XMOS chip should work together with the SBT out-of-the-box. I had
the Oppo 105 here and now I am using the Matrix X-Sabre DAC. Both of
them have the XMOS chip (though different versions afaik). It worked
flawlessly each time without that I had to adjust anything.
Hello solarrdadd,
yes that's possible. Have a look at this thread
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=119364.0 Unfortunately, the
Oppo 105's USB DAC is not DoP-ready. You better look for a stand-alone
USB-DAC and keep your BDP-93 (or buy the 103).

Is it possible for the Touch to output 352.8kHz and 384kHz via USB?
No, not possible. Only up to 176.4 and 192khz. At least I was trying
to play DSD128 in the DoP format (FLAC container and 352.8kHz). You
might try this

I don't have that many so it isn't worth the effort.
Maybe you can find someone with such a PS3 who can rip these discs for
you. There are UK members in that forum. There are offers for this
special service though from US forum members.
@PasTim... That`s a complex topic. I recommend to have a look at the
AudioCircle forum: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?board=150.0
Yes, for ripping SACDs you need a certain PS3 with a certain firmware.

The USB connection works out of the box after the reboot. With the
X-Sabre DAC (and via USB) it is possible to stream DoP files with the
SBT. A dream came true. Thanks again to Triode for creating the EDO app
and also thanks to JohnSwenson for bumping me into this DSD/DoP topic!
John, thanks again! It works via USB connection! I am happy :-) Amazing
this SBT with the EDO app. Shame on Logitech (again)! They really don`t
have any idea what a fine piece of art they give up there.

Guido.. I found this in the EDO compatibility list

for your DAC:
SPDIF and Optical - everything works. For USB, user must set EDO Buffer
size to any setting except Default or Very Large + Randomise
Hi John, yes it is confusing a bit. I have found this Matrix DAC on the
DSD Database
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgVhKcl_3lHfdFVyenBBNjNpQ2lieG81WGpqQTNfVUE#gid=0
According that database even its digital inputs can handle DoP. I have
asked the Chinese main office from Matrix

Actually you CAN play a DSD file through a Touch as long as you DoP
encode it.
Wow! Thanks John! That was really new to me. I was dreaming of the LUMIN
but with the SBT + EDO, a suitable DAC is all I need! I just ordered the
Matrix X-Sabre DAC. USB connection should work,
Use the Oppo to play the DSD files instead. Either from USB drive or via
Network (smb).

No Mac needed, neither jRiver. All you need is an extern USB disk,
connected to the Oppo. If you have an iPad then you can use the Media
Control HD app.

my personal opinion is that trying to use the USB out of the touch is
much ado about nothing. With a decent DAC, the s/pdif coax or optical
out of the TOUCH works perfectly (and is the way it was designed to
work). It's great that triode created EDO to work with USB dacs and

Can someone explain to me how the components are connected for this use?
Oppo into AVR (via RCA), SQT into Oppo( via USB? Coax)?
Hi gellie, my Oppo went into a stereo-amp via XLR. The SBT went into the
Oppo via USB. Coax is also possible but when I remember right the

Thanks Holzohr. I'm not familiar with XLR cables. Why use them? Is this
just for audio?
Mentioning of XLR was not really necessary. I used it because the Oppo
105 and also my former amp have these connects. Of course, RCA does it
too
Not sure if someone already mentioned about the USB DAC of the Oppo 105.
I can confirm it works like a charm. Thanks again to triode! I have
added the Oppo to the compatibility list.

Returning to my 176.4 problem, has anyone managed to output this SF
from the SBT to a DAC? It seems puzzling that the Arcam rDAC won't play

there something in this plugin that might be preventing 176.4 from

Thanks again, to all who have helped to realize this.
Where to donate? :)
