7.6 may have done me in.
So does anyone have a fix?

Managed by iTunes, PowerTunes, iVolume
through things than before. Is there a way to change
this behaviour? I'd rather these icons not come up at all. The Touch
interface is not exactly fast as it is.
Thanks.

to stream ALAC or need any kind of transcoding. If by
work with iTunes you mean run iTunes itself, you need a Mac/PC for
that. I use PowerTunes along with a ReadyNAS to manage a separate
iTunes library and preferences and move music back and forth to the
server. Works great.

I Second the vote for the Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus. Officially
supported by Logitech and fast. Do not get the ReadyNAS Duo if you want
to stream any format that requires transcoding to the Touch (it's too
slow). Actually, forget the Duo for anything other than basic file
sharing.

=87337). I'm also not
happy that the Touch doesn't do what it is billed to do, after all this
time. When I try to play ALAC off a USB flash drive all I get is a hiss
and then silence. Not good.
I've solved the problem by ordering a faster NAS. Seems to be the only
way right now.

They are available at solutionsav.ca, a custom a/v installer and
dealer.
I got mine there. They will ship it to you anywhere in Canada.
