Hi Bob.
Do you run LMS and Phil Leigh's modified version of Inguz on your NAS?
Just curious as I would like to see if I could make the SB Touch feed my
Metrum Octave DAC upsampled files.
Best wishes,

Hi Peter,
I tried over a long period of time to get Inguz

So are you using the John Swenson design or the Logitech Wall Wart?
Bob.
I see some interesting DIY projects in your signature. A modded Nap 250
and a Starfish DIY pre. Hmmm. Are you on PFM?
I am about ready to buy the ingredients, only I am

Temporaly you see two output cables with a different powerplug for
testing. One for the Touch, one for my Lindemann DAC (I do not use them
at the same time).
The CR combination has been soldered directly on the transfo. Cables are

Yep server side transcode to flac would work too - so disable the aiff

Use of flac playback on the player will not be a requirement when 7.8 is
released, but with 7.7 the server only knows about

It is great that someone placed the free App for the upgrade, but the OP
was looking for opinions, at least intially.
Is this upgrade designed only to enhance the USB ?
If not then the OP might need the information that its not helping the

Normally Inguz doesn't upsample or downsample as far as I'm aware -
maybe Phil will be able to confirm this. Phils modified config file

Hi Bob,
I'm not a INGUZ user so I'm not going to be able to help with that.
Triode's stuff handles 192 because the server code actually asks a
squeezeplay player what its capabilities are. The way Triode has
squeezeplay connecting to a device means that it can actually

Hi Triode,
What is the 'Kernel Idle Option' meant to do?
I understand that it is intended to prevent the Touch CPU from idling
when playing music. But why is this advantageous?

It should be off by default, but you can enable it and let me know if

Option enabled! I'll let you you know if I hear any difference.

Interesting...
A few weeks ago I started using Inguz and for some reason have had a

Hey that's good...
Yes this is added by the applet - it seemed to me to be where the output

Afraid not - that means audio needs to go through the software layer
which replicates the streams, this causes quite a bit of additional
processing. It

The applet also supports 24/192k on the coax digital out. [It may work

Hi Triode,
I got hold of a 24/192 sample from LINN and it does play.
I'm using a Lavry DA10 DAC connected via optical but have no way of
telling if it's playing 24/192 or is being downsampled by sox. Is there
any way of seeing what is beng played?
Thanks

Look at the processes running on the server - for 192k playback normally
you will see a sox process for resampling assuming you are playing a

OK :)
Had to disable Inguz as sox is running all the time with that!
At first play, the 192k sample did nothing. The DAC has a

What seemed to work for me was to unplug the power connector and leave
un-powered for about half an hour them power back on - screen came back
each time. It's worth a go and may work for you as well.
What I did in the end though was to have it replaced by Logitech under
warranty.
