Because it costs money and if you choose to connect a power supply that
it isn't designed for the TOUCH then I am afraid it's your own fault.

I had the same problem with my touch. As far as I know there is burned
U26 IC (which noone knows what it is) and couple diodes in front of it
as well and who knows what else. :(
The guy at my repair service thinks he could probably repaired it only
if he had the one that is working to measure it.
A colleague recently damaged his Squeezebox Touch when a 12V power
supply was accidentally plugged in, and I'm looking into repair
possibilities. I'm skilled at small SMT component rework, but would
like to know which components are most likely damaged by the
overvoltage. There are no visibly ch
