[SlimDevices: Touch] Noise on RCA outputs at max. volume.

Hi, My conifg has the SBT with the RCA output connected to a preamp. The preamp is connected via a long (5m) wire to an amp. The SBT is at max volume. At a higher volume setting of the preamp I get a hiss like an untuned FM radio. Any suggestions? Both the preamp and amp are DIY homegrown kits

Do you get the hiss if you disconnect the RCA interconnects from the Touch to the preamp? Do you get the hiss if you connect another line source (tuner, CD player, etc.) to the preamp? If you get the same hiss from other sources or with no input then the noise is probably originating in the

Could not see any sensitivity spec on the power amp thou . The preamp looks nice with adjustable gain so use that if you can . If gain could be adjusted directly that's actually better than attenuators . If it indeed is not another kind of proplem (like msstl suggested try another source or no
