Well, It's true. When reattaching the usbstation it scans the whole
database for any changes, and after that it adds the new music if it's
there. It takes less time than the first time. I can live with it now.

Hehe, actually it's all happening within 1 process (the server/scanner

it's confusing me as a user. can you please remove it?

It sounds rather like the OP's disc isn't writable for some reason. Can
you see the cache database being written on the disc?

No, you don't have to do anything special. SBS builds the database by
reading the tags on your music files, and writes the database to the
external HD. That i

It happens automatically, it's store in the following directory on the
USB drive:
/.Squeezebox/cache/
It might not be visible on a computer unless you hav

You can use
Also note that you can browse/play artists, albums, etc while it's
scanning, and you will just see the list that has been scanned so far.

I agree that would be annoying, but if you let it build up the database
once, the Touch should recognise the USB when it is reattached
Not sure what's not working. There must be an initial scan of the
attached USB drive so that the SB library knows what music is there.

I attached a 250GB external Harddrive to the Squeezebox Touch with
almost 4000 tracks. The manual is mentioning the following:
Simply plug your drive into the USBconnector on the back of your
Squeezebox, or insert your SDcard into the slot on the right side.
