I have this week installed 7.7.1 and 'lost' all my plug-ins in the
process.
I can not now either see the Playlist Manager plug-in on the list
available to add (and neither do I see an option of 'Display all 3rd
party plug-ins)
Any ideas?
Thanks

I try not to use the Touch for editing playlists.
I use Foobar in combination with some batch scripts to reset the
filename paths. Currently, there are 5 playlists in my Touch, because
it's too worksome.
It would be so great if Logitech took this serious: a good realtime

On the Touch screen press & hold the playlist title, Delete will be
offered. Can probably use the "+" button on remote too.

If you do a press and hold on the playlist, the context menu has an
entry to delete it.

OK slight drift here, but related to the initial query of recovering
from a screw-up. I was trying to create a playlist from my Controller
yesterday and saved it, then screwed up so wanted to delete the messed
up playlist I had already saved and named. I cannot seem to be able to

Well we have the Playlist manager plugin that makes it possible to add
to playlists that are not curently playing .
Myself I use iPeng HD it works also by context meny in some fashion but
faster and smother .
So my on the fly whaking together a temporary list is done from my sofa
with an iPad .
I have been trying to do similar but I use a separate app to create my
playlists (MusicBee in windows). It allows me to export playlists into
my LMS playlists folder and adjust the path as necessary.
The problem is the doing a playlist only scan doesn't pick them up.
Is there a setting to make LMS

the remote for me is only useful for radio presets and volume.

IMO, it's because it requires the use of the context-menu that it's so
easy to screw up on the Touch. And even easier on the Radio with its
click-knob. It's also a huge PITA because you have to use the slow
click-hold method to call up the menu, then make a menu selection, and
then sit through the

Or the way I do it is using the Touch's remote and using the + key and
then play next. I've rarely ended up trashing the current list and it
starting over once I got in the habit of using the remote. And you can
add either songs or albums the same way, just highlight selection press

yes, as i stated and JJx noted, the key here is impromptu. i've just

Build your playlist with *whatever* export as m3u .
Now open in text editor ( wordpad , note pad ) search and replace
filepath to the one sbs/lms sees .
Unsure of what sbs/lms sees as path, create a small plalylist and have
a look with said text editor.

Yes, that's correct. But it means that the file locations are specific
to the way the drive is mounted to the server. I can'
Note that the OP says "impromptu playlist". Not a stored playlist. A
playlist that you just want to put together now.
It's definitely easier in the web interface than in any other
Squeezebox interface, but still possible to screw up if you're not
paying attention.
I'm not certain, but it may be

How about using the WebUI to build your playlist?
Chill is on the right track, too. You can use any software to build the
playlist as long as you use the same file paths as Music Server uses.
Export them as M3U to your playlist folder and then scan for new
playlists.
Or create a playlist with on

Here's three possibilities:
1) save the playlist as you go along
2) use an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch along with pippin's iPeng app. It
has a "party mode" that does just what you're looking for.
3) get Logitech to revive the "party mode" they had programmed in
SqueezeOS (ie, Touch, Radio, and
often i'm building an impromptu playlist by adding tracks to the end and
then, i screw up, hit a track (instead of holding) and wipe out the

is there a better (safer) way?
