I think LMS handles special characters pretty well. I have several Norwegian albums with Æ, Ø and Å, and although it doesn't sort them in the right order, they're displayed correctly, and searching for them works fine. Earlier today, I made a search for "total". Among the other search results, LM

It works fine and since 7.6 almost all bugs regarding such characters are fixed. Sorting of such charactersrs will depend on language settings in squeezeboxserver. I use åäö and accents, there are languages with a lot more of these things. Search from a player ( they don't have these caracters

I just ran a quick test with those strings and the server had no problems. That said, character sets can be tricky. This was running LMS 7.7.1 on a server running Windows Server 2003 SP2, with a FLAC file tagged using Mp3tag. +---+
