that reported error seems a bit different than the crashing report about
libevent0.
My feeling is that (as Debian comments said its not an error) such script
comment need either to be fixed or silenced if that 'preset fail' has no real
importance.

Christian,the failure occurs to me even in a stationary scenario, it
does not occur at all suspend/resume cycles, but randomly. (I could not
establish a pattern anyway)
In fact, what you described never occured to me, the network-manager UI
doesn't show a stale list of wifi networks. In my case
I verified that brightness control keeps on working on my local machines
(Lenovo x220 and x250). I do not have the HW in the bug title available
for testing purposes.

thank your for your report and your help to make Ubuntu better.
These are essentially two issues in one.
For the first being "fail sasl+pam" - would you have some steps to reproduce
the issue.
At least I must admit I never set them up, and others coming by to help might
as well.

Last night I ran into the same problem. I upgraded from 12.04 LTS to 16.04.1
LTS Server and got stuck at boot.
The last message complained about a UUID not being present. It turned out it
was the /usr FS. Doing an "lvm lvscan" from the initrd prompt showed all but
one LVs inactive. The only one
Worry not, this is getting reverted ASAP.
