This isn't a bug in software-properties. What I can't decide is if it's
a bug in virtualbox-guest* or ubuntu-drivers-common. Basically, here's
what's happening:
1) The virtualbox-guest* packages have a modalias for the guest services, but
not the VGA controller.
2) We pulled the DKMS drivers

Fixing upstart to do the right thing is probably good anyway, but since
one can't go back in time and fix it, that won't solve the upgrade
issue. The only way to solve the upgrade issue is to make systemd not
forward the request, I imagine. It could potentially make the first
umount on reboot

if nothing else? Maybe that's mildly abusive of the interface, but any
attempt to hint at people why their boot is failing to be useful sure
beats just sitting there.

We don't update the release pocket's Packages file post-release. As
such, this bug will only get fixed if libterm-readkey-perl is uploaded
to -updates or -security, which seems unlikely to be necessary.
That said, rest assured that it's supported regardless of the state of
the Packages file.
Or, I guess, Won't Fix, not Invalid.
