Dunno if I'd be up for any commitments at present, but I'll take a look
around for sure
You really need to understand that free software and making money are not
antagonist. This year, Red Hat will make more than 1 *billion* dollars of
sales. Red Hat does not deliver free software only... but almost (most of its
business deals with servers on which you neither need Wifi
I don't belive Richard Stallmans reason for calling it GNU/Linux has anything
to do with credit particularly. He is not asking for people to call it

The new version has three pieces I belive. One is the main emualtor, two is
an extension to add features and this is under a non-free license, three is
an extension that may or may not be free depending on where you get it from.
I believe that third extension is available from the repository
OK send me an name of your fb and im going to make an an admin
Debian has non-free repositories. Yeah, sure, officially they are not part of
Debian but that's nothing but semantics.
Adding non-free repos is not any different from adding non-free PPAs.
I really suggest you do some reading about the history of free software to
properly understand the
ok ok duds this is way to offtopic now.
I just need help installing non-free software on trisquel cuz i realy want to
try trisquel
if anyone can help me pleas do.
To block most applications from some fb stuff you might want to add this to

No offence, but the fact that you keep on asking here about tainting a Free
system with something non-Free makes me believe that you just don't
understand the goal of this project.
Trisquel is not just another distro out there that just happens to be 100%
Free. This Freedom is the whole
Tengri you are now an admin hope to see some posts from you!
if anyone wants to be an admin post
I have Stallman's hair and beard, does that count?
i respect the freedom that you support and im an big supporter of FSF but
if i want to do something with my computer i need internet. And im not the

I already knew of bouml, but thanks anyway.
If you've got friends with laptops you can research the model numbers and
find one that has a compatible mini-PCIe card in it then ask them to let you
swap cards. Assuming the manufacturer hasn't locked the system to only accept
that one wireless card, it should work without an issue. I did
Advocating for free software is really hard, I can't manage to get the
message accross to most my friends too. People are too used to think in
practical terms about software, that's the problem. Schools should start
using free software in IT classes and tell kids something about free
Typing uml in the quick search field of the Synaptic package manager
lists you quite some applications: umbrello (which is, I believe, the most
advanced UML modeller), dia, umlet, gaphor, etc.
I know, I'm proposing you find someone you know who has a laptop or netbook
and check to see if their particular model has a wifi adapter that is libre
supported. If so, open the chassis, and swap your non-free card for their
libre card. Unless you've got mean friends who'd charge you for
@sphynx:
I'm sure it was TAILS. I have Trisquel in my desktop too and i had to use
cryptsetup to encrypt it. As far as I know, TAILS is the only distro that
has(?) swap encrypted by default.
TAILS has an interesting feature that safely erases all RAM when shutting
down the PC... I've
Well, I'd then suggest that you try out Fedora. They include only free
software in the default install but with a blobbed kernel. There is also
Debian. Although they ship with the libre kernel the installer scans your
hardware and check what needs non-free firmware and gently asks you if you
Mitja -
I am glad that you have enthusiasm for getting this card to work on your
system, but the reality is that you will not get it working on a Trisquel
system unless you force non-free firmware or buy a new card. No one here on
this forum is going to help you jerry rig your system to
Hello. I'm having problems with the workspace switcher applet on the bottom
panel, there is no option for how many workspaces that one can choose, is
there any other way to increase or decrease the amount of workspaces that
someone requires?
You right-click on the applet and select preferences. From the option menu
that pops up you can change how many workspaces are available.
It used to be possible to choose the number of workspaces from a right click
and preferences. Unfortunately it does not seem to be the case anymore (but,
fortunately for me, the 6 workspaces I chose to have some versions ago are
still there). There is in gconf-editor (that you can execute
I'm not sure what you mean it isn't possible. I am running Trisquel 5 and I
can do it.
Here is a screenshot:

I don't think that using non-free software for advocating free software is
very consistent.

Si me equivoco, al menos sé que soy yo quién se equivocó y no que me

In my philosophy you can't feed the starving if you hang out all day in the
Country Club.
Is anybody else having difficulties getting FlashVideoReplacer to work on
YouTube as of today? I haven't been able to get Gnash or Lightspark to work
with YouTube, and FVR is the best way to play back HD content on my machine.
I'd just use the HTML5 beta, but it doesn't support all videos
No, I have had difficulties with FlashVideoReplacer for quite a while; now I
use html5 and as a fallback Another YouTube Downloader.
Huh, weird. It worked perfectly for me up until yesterday...

With all due respect, FSFs don't share that philosophy or accept it for
their aproved distros. By doing something they don't approve
I've never used it, but is Minitube any good?
I dunno. I actually don't use Trisquel anymore (switched to Parabola after
Trisquel 5.0 gave me issues). I'm compiling minitube right now (not in
Parabola's repositories) to try it out.
Linterna Magica works fine on Parabola via Totem plugin (works with Midori,
Epiphany and Mozilla based browsers IceCat and the libre version of
IceWeasel) or Gecko Media Player (works just with Mozilla browsers).
