Yes, wait. It's an anti-spam measure.
I think it is too small and simple to be needing a license (you can just read
it and rewrite it easily). That being said, you can use it under GPLv3.
Have you used one of the alternatives? How did it compare to Impress?
You can use LaTeX with Beamer too. When document is exported as PDF,
you shouldn't have any surprise (in the layout) during the
presentation. But it is less user-friendly, of course (especially when
you never uses LaTeX).
I suspect you do not have 3D acceleration.
Could you post the output of

I will as soon as I ca solve the test page problem. Until that happens, I
can't really test the printer :P
But thanks ;)
I agree that HP printers are good for free software users, but if I can't
solve the test page problem, they are no good :P
I will have to take a look at it later when I got the time (which means next
year lol).
Wha- how can a typeface older than 150 years involve a patent that is still
active today? Patents don't last that long. If it was patented recently
enough for the patent to still be active, it would have to be invalid.
I also find it hard to believe that the guy who made the typeface lived
Their relatives can renew the patent and patents can also be sold and renewed

Glad to see you got it working! Though one word of caution on HPLIP. I have
had it suggest non-free firmware before. Taking for example this printer:

Make sure you don't agree to any evil EULA when using HPLIP. ;)
I'm pretty sure patents don't work that way. If they can be renewed at all,
they can only be renewed once for 10 or so additional years. There is no way
a patent in the U.S. can last 150 years. Even copyright doesn't normally last
that long yet.
Why is it absurd? Your whole argument on this page seems to be from a
stance of dodgy semantics and argument for arguments sake.
I agree that ethics can be a moveable feast. We could come up with some

Just to pick at this ... sorry and all that ...
Better to simply declare it public domain. Using the GPLv3 for a simple
(trivial) script is like cracking a nut with a steamroller. Wrong tool.
Specifically, using the GPLv3 means that this 22 line BASH script would have
to be distributed
The first one doesn't say anything about patent renewal. The second one says
that patents can only be renewed in certain special cases, and it doesn't say
that it can be done perpetually. It's talking about plants and drugs, not
fonts.

I wasn't speaking to this specific case, only pointing out something in
response to your statement about copyright.
You are right and in fact I already have thought about it but I didn't come
to a final conclusion yet. I like the idea to build my own computer with

If thinkpenguin did a similar lappy with more powerful graphics and a docking

Sadly you often have to pick between freedom and technical superiority, as is
the case here.
And PS, the X60 already has the docking station option.
Not as far as I know as long as you stick with the X60 (plain) or X60s
