I have some important files on a USB stick which are encrypted using EncFS
with the paranoia option. My question is about the .encfs6.xml files in the
USB stick.
If my USB stick gets stolen, should I get worried that the USB stick contains
the .encfs6.xml file?
Yeah, and don't forget the $500,000 remuneration for the chairperson.
Someone's got to pay that.

Try the viewtube Greasemonkey script. Unfortunatey though you'll have to
scroll down the playlist manually...
(Re)move /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch:
$ sudo rm /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch
thankyou that sorted it
anyone know what cleaning software for keeping system clean
sudo apt-get autoremove --purge would be a good help.
Thank you very much for pointing out the solution!
Chrooted like a charm.
Right now I'm posting this comment from Midori browser after boot from hard
drive.
You can install computer-janitor to do a bit more than 'apt-get
autoremove'. There is a graphical interface: computer-janitor-gtk.
how do you work it.

Hello everyone.
I was a windows user and after discovered some free software like
libreoffice,Sumatra PDF, etc. i decided to find more about free software
until i found linux and the several distributions of linux including
Trisquel. I liked so much the ideas concerning freedom that i
I can't seem to fix it... I think it's not reading gconf.

Or try Linterna Mágica which has integration for YouTube playlists -

For school, I sometimes have to do french homeworks, which obviously involve
accents. On libreoffice, doing this is a bore, as I have to press
insertSpecial symbol and find the one I want, which takes ages. On my
friend's mac, he holds down the letter, and a little box appears asking him
Can you not use gksudo?
(many gconf things are not read in gnome 3 which uses the gsettings thingy)
For proactive security I recommend using the NoScript extension for abrowser.

I wonder if a dead BIOS battery could be the culprit here?
You should add (a + button) an international (search for this word)
version of your keyboard layout (see the layout tab of the eponymous
utility, in the System Settings). There is a UK international and a USA
international.
You then need to learn where to find the accents in the layout.
Yes. If it does not want to remove useful stuff (in my case it wants to
remove the software I installed through a .deb to declare my taxes).
Otherwise, uncheck what is to be kept.
I can use gksu and gksudo from the console but I need to be able to run apps
from the Activities overview (I use GNOME shell).
I read somewhere that every package is a vunreability. Should this principle
be applied to home/office workstations?
(if I installed gnome instead of gnome-shell, or if I even installed a X.org
server at all...)

The problem is not about *installing* useless applications but about
*running* useless applications. Especially those interacting with the
Internet.
U.S. International with dead keys is what I would use (I've used it before),
but I'm confused: the way dead keys are supposed to work is nothing shows up
until the next key is pressed, which determines what is typed: if the next
key is space, the accent shows up by itself, and if you press a
You could install xbindkeys from Trisquel's repositories, add it to your
startup applications, and then bind some keyboard shortcuts to the diacritics
you need.
If it is it certainly happened at a very unfortunate time. Like probably most
here, I remember reading stories about samsung uefi laptops getting bricked
by linux but I'm assuming that simply switching from uefi to bios mode and
net-installing wouldn't cause a freeze like I've described?
Thanks onpon4, BugRep and Ivaylo for the fast answer! And such a honor the
developer of linterna mágica, talked in first hand!
Thanks again all.
Because of Ivaylo and his reccomendation's links i understand now a bit more
the history and philosophy of Gnu-linux.
And by the way, it is possible

The Raspberry Pi is (perhaps until now) unable to boot without the
proprietary driver. This quote is from the FSF single board computer page:
The Raspberry Pi requires nonfree software to start up. It can't reach the

It's based on use of a server, and you can customize what this server is.
Using someone else's dictionary database probably isn't SaaSS; looking up
words in their database isn't something you would be able to do in your

Hello all, where can I download a free .dict format dictionary?
I think remote dictionaries have a legitimate use: making sure the
definition you're reading is up-to-date.
I don't think the meaning of words change that fast, assuming you are talking
about a dictionary, and not an

The premise in this statement is that we want to do the task with a server.
That premise affects the answer (yes, we can only look up a word on a
server, if we use a server).
I don't think that

Right, and Dictionary does give you an option, though it's not obvious: point
