Booting "by hand" and letting APT do the job is another way to go. This time
I am not even sure you need to execute 'sudo update-grub': 'apt-get' has
probably executed it for you (command called from a post-processing script).

Nvidia cards do work better but that's no thanks to nvidia but instead a 3rd
party reverse engineering effort to produce nouveau, a free driver and
firmware.
Also, intel cards will not work if they are powervr based.

for the correct syntax. And should not the group be "george" instead of

I finally installed Trisquel GNU/Linux on my main machine and I encountered a
rather ugly font in my gnome-terminal. So I installed the Ubuntu fonts and
configured them. But I don't really want to use it. :-)

I use the default in Konsole, which is DejaVu Sans Mono (and "Monospace" is
an alias for it)
I use the default font (I don't consider it to be ugly), but one you could
try is Droid Sans Mono.

No. It's just a meta-package. Removing it won't have any particular effect at
all (the only effect will be that you'll be able to remove packages that
