wc -l reads from standard input and outputs a single line containing the
number of newline characters read. It's useful to count lines of code, but
SLOCCount is specialized for that. I sometimes compare the output of wc with
that of sloccount.
Triqel: Try ls -li $(which wc) $(which
Here are my few current main desktop screenshots while I'm using GNOME 3
Flashback on Trisquel GNU/Linux 7 Belenos, for after I redesigned my new
logo since from the beginning of this month.
That seems as good a reason as any!
I'm really confused why this happens. A screenshot of GParted is attached
which shows how my partitions are set up. Now, previously, GParted didn't
detect the first partition, which is a linux-swap partition, as swap, so I
reformatted it. As of then I can turn on swap in GParted just fine,
As you wish. I have a panel on the middle-left and another on the lower

No, I'm staying in the good old times when Compiz 0.8 was in use and one
needn't worry about GTK+3 :)
I've just realised (s)he calls him/erself chaosesqueteam.
The name chaos-proper-team would've been more appropriate :p
I'm not sure about the rating mechanism, but can't anybody with lots of
accounts just upvote her own posts and circumvent the system that way?
Originally, the problem appeared when I tried to check the total number of
lines using wc command.
user@trisquel:~$ cat file.txt | wc -l
modprobe: invalid option -- 'l'
This is output for marioxcc:
user@trisquel:~$ ls -li $(which wc) $(which modprobe)

Here is the desktop of my woefully underpowered laptop.
Here's a zip I made a while back with everything you need to get xmonad
working easily and quickly. (Including doing waht you asked about)
I probably should've attached it to the OP post, sorry.
Since you haven't tried it you wouldn't know, would you?
Tell me, what exactly have you contributed to the libre software movement?
How many years of programming? Any music? What about media such at textures,
pixel art, 3d models and architecture, etc?
Even if you aren't a troll and you
Tell me, what exactly have you contributed to the libre software
movement?
I have no idea whether I've contributed more or less to libre software than
you. It doesn't matter. Whatever respect it could have earned you was lost
with your trolling.
It's just i3.
Very often, i hide the status bar and have just the plain desktop. Trust me:
once you're used to a tiling window manager, you won't go backever again.
Convert to xmonad-ism, Coffee Cup! :p
Maybe I did forget to attach, or it was rejected? It seems a moot point,
now, anyway, thanks for the follow-up comments. If there is continued
interest, I'll try again, or paste script into a forum message (note: the
browser may wrap in strange ways). :) Anyway, since learning of the
Please help me out:
How do I
1. create costum key bindings for launching apps?
2. launch an app at startup?
Don't know why i'm doing this, i3 works fine for me but xmonad is somehow so
cool oô
Certainly. But that is quite some work just to get one's message showed. It
may be possible to automate the process though...
You need no find the UUID. I have that line in /etc/fstab:
/dev/sda1 noneswapsw 0 0
Suspicious activity like that would certainly be grounds for a ban, wouldn't
it?
It should be easy to detect.
On my system (up-to-date Trisquel 7), 'wc' only takes 39648 bytes:
$ ls -li /usr/bin/wc
4664 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 39648 janv. 14 01:50 /usr/bin/wc
Following marioxcc's idea, take a look at the SMART data and auto-test the
disk. To do so, you can use the Disks utility in the System settings
I don't think everything you make is scheiSZe, just that your posts are, or
tend to be.
So the Response to an Anti-feminist developer 'FK YOU EVERYTHING YOU MAKE IS
CRAP!' is just pushing it.
I can almost (almost) guarantee you I've done more OSS development than
you.
So? That doesn't weigh anything in the question of whether one is a troll.
Linus Torvalds (assuming he's not you) can troll, can be called a troll, but
that doesn't stop him from being the lead developer and
SystemV's developer(s)
Lol.
There's a saying: Don't fix what isn't broke.
SystemV and developers are not words that belong together in a phrase on
sentance.
And then you try to one-up yourself by mentioning upstart.
But you fail because can't top that!
(If you still don't get it: System V
When discussing whether you deserve a Nobel, your programming does weigh, but
not when discussing the paragraphs you write and how polite they are (no, I'm
not saying my comments are saint-esque).
I didn't say that code contribs don't weigh on anything, the same way that

No, a troll is someone who says things that he himself does not believe with
the sole aim of riling a targeted audience up. That is not I.

So you're assuming SystemV's developer(s) or Upstarts's developer(s) are anti

This is not a competition so what have I lost (other than around 4 flash
drives in a few years)?
And I can still fork the bloody thing.

Have to admit that Trisquel can be absolutely gorgeous due
Look into the different linux desktop environments. I'm using XFCE 4.12,
which came out less than a week ago, it's great. (XFCE 4.10 comes with
Trisquel and honestly isn't much different, you can try that out by opening
synaptic (under settings) and installing xfce4 and xfce4-goodies
Dear all,
After configuring Evolution with the IMAP settings of my employer, I receive

In the realm where UUEncoded messages dwell you'll find the answer.
You've lost *nix.
Apparently it's not worth even whatever 4 flash drives are to you, by way of
your comparison.
fair enough, should've admitted it earlier. But that leaves all the other
ages.
plain but that is a good background!
Very well, then.
Seems like you have me hating cute young girls in your slash delineated list.
That is an error.
There's a difference between many and 100. And what has my post got to do
with the definiton of trolls? That I stated that it takes
Go look up the definition of troll.
Yes, it often takes many many many posts to notice a real troll.
You people today use troll to mean someone who's opinions I find offensive
and as a reason for censorship and banning (including attempted ejectment
from the open-source community)

As I said: Seems like you have me hating cute young girls in your slash

Do you know that slashes imply or?
I just noticed that wc command does not work correctly in Trisquel 7. It has
linked with modprobe. My example is shown below:
user@trisquel:~$ which wc
/usr/bin/wc
user@trisquel:~$ which modprobe
/sbin/modprobe
user@trisquel:~$ wc -l
modprobe: invalid option -- 'l'
user@trisquel:~$ wc
It isn't. The freedom to change (and replace, but that's not easy) it is
worth more than 4 flash drives, though.
And we've still got that.
So? What has that got to do with my post about you post about hating people
who have/should've/will be going/gone through menarche?
Oh, and you're not using a still-supported version Trisquel, are you?
can we just ignore this team of trolls? - he is obviously one disturbed
personality. so why feed him and keep on this nonsense? Thx..
jabjabs I like your style very mjuch!!
yeah, but share your desktop
Oh absolutly a troll, you figured it out!
I did not write troll anywhere in this thread.
So tell me, what do you develop?
http://dcc.ufmg.br/~lcerf/en/prototypes.html
But I do not see why me developing is any important here.
The rest of your post just deserves the silent -1. You got it.
Weird. On an installed system that is up to date (you apparently use a live
system), 'wc -l' properly reads the standard input... although I do not see
much point in this behavior when the standard input is not redirected (i.e.,
when it is the keyboard). Is 'wc -l' properly working when you

Someone needs an apt-get dist upgrade!
Success! I found out what his Icecat theme was. It was Groovy Blue at

Put in /etc/fstab something like:
UUID=---- none swap sw 0 0
You can get the UUID by running blkid on the partition as root (e.g. sudo
blkid /dev/sda1).
You have a really bizarre definition of troll.
Now, the only libre software contribution of yours that I'm aware of is Chaos
Esque, which as far as I can tell is some sort of unfocused fork of Xonotic
that is more resource-hungry and supposedly more realistic; I haven't seen
any good
