DDG has set a default search engine for Trisquel. If it has some unclear
issues with privacy or something else then maybe it should be replaced with
something else one, for example Startpage.
The X60 is one of the few models that can be flashed without external
hardware and most people would say that's easier than a hardware flash.
Other models must be taken apart and flashed with another computer like a
Beagle Bone. The Libreboot install page explains this in gruesome detail
How indeed? Can you show me examples of me constantly talking about silly
Vista H8 GUI drama rather than software freedom issues of Windows? Does a
Bing or DDG search turns up such stuff? A Google search for "will hill"
"vista h8" did not do it for me. I may have also complained about

From the conversations I had with you right around that time on Diaspora. I'm
sorry, but that's just funny. I didn't expect you to remember me, but how can
you not remember your own statements that you repeated constantly from just a
couple of
Thank you for the links. I've added one of them to my essay about DDG. The
other, noting that DDG is hosted on AWS, is something I already have good
links for.
Your five year old representation of me is very strange. You say I'm someone
who,

Yeah, the Debian Project got special permission. For most other people it
remains non-free because you do not have freedom #2 (the freedom to
redistribute exact copies commercially.) It is unclear to me what would do if
the Debian Project were to try this. Or if someone else were to try
You don't trust DuckDuckGO so you suggest to use google instead?

Oh no!! Microsoft is gonna see my

Just a couple examples. They're not hard to find.

Check the other criteria: no driver plug-in, no firmware, etc.
When you are finished looking at that list, would you publish what you find?
Why isn't searx the default search engine for abrowser or icecat?
Thanks for the tips, SuperTramp83. I've heard good things about Searx before
and will look into it again.
I looked into the origins and history of Duck Duck Go and the companies
funding it, did not like what I found, and added it to my list of reasons of
why people should not use DDG.
Sadly, this method (extracting EDID) failed on one incompatible T60 panel I
tried (the screen did not produce valid EDID even when using non-free VGA
option ROM). Connecting an external monitor with usable graphics when using
that panel didn't work reliably, so I cannot recommend a T60 for
It's only my personal opinion.
I don't know about you all, but my Trisquel 7 still runs wonderfully!
I'm unsure from your question, 8bitDev, if you are able to flash by hardware
method - I can't talk about that.
I have flashed a T60 being absolutely not very hackerish. The guides are at
some points a bit confusing, but with patience and help (e.g. here), it's
really easy.
Remember that
In which sense? Objectively or subjectively?
Aloniv earlier directed me to this nice trick that should work on many but
not all machines

its a firefox addon. but it may not be detecting how many layers of security
the searx you use has.
so yeah. I think I will check my searx on there. ;)
awesome! so printers from here that also support scan work totally with free
software? I see many of them working "Full" with scan and even fax
Yes, I've look in h-node.
The Epson drivers are nonfree, I’m pretty sure.
I hate Epson. Those are the worst.
Back for more stupidity on my part...
here's yet another example of bad planning:
I didn't expect my graphic card to be long enough to COVER one of the CPU
slots...
How hard can it be to measure the whole thing before buying extra stuff I'll
never need, like another CPU and another

Used it for a very long time, then switched to moka.

After a long wait, Debian developer Christoph Goehre was proud to announce a
couple of days ago that the Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client
officially landed in the repositories of Debian GNU/Linux,
For the X60s it seems all panels are compatible (at least according to the
Libreboot link provided). The T60 however has incompatible panels.
If you get an x60 or x60s it must have the right lcd screen.

Pretty hard to find out before you get it.
X200 is the best!
