Oh man, my bad! It's a shame... Uninstalling it ASAP!
Thanks again dude!
Best regards.
you're right, I apply the update while installing the new version of the
graphical stack, so in that sense would have no way to determine if the
improvement in functionality is due to one or the other.

Haven't you seize the occasion to update Abrowser to version 62? If so,
version 62 (and not Xorg's update) may have solved the rendering issue.
Abrowser 62 entered Trisquel's repository this morning, maybe yesterday.
Pale Moon is not free software: https://www.palemoon.org/redist.shtml
Since the packages linux-*-hwe-8.0 all have their version numbers ending with
"trisquel4", I believe there should be no such problem. If there is, then it
is a critical issue to file: Trisquel's repository should never propose
proprietary software.
I remember Magic B pointing out this to me a year ago or so, it is indeed a
problem, I love snes and I love a couple of emulators that are free software
and work great, but the games themselves are all proprietary. It is very sad
not being able to play Donkey Kong Country in clear
Well, I still have the X server up and running (LOL!). The installation
process only showed me some warnings harmless but noisy but everything
happened correctly.
As a first impression it seems to me that the rendering problem has been
solved at the moment. I need to let more time pass to
Thank you very much for the explanation, I am still adapting to the
Trisquel's packages/structure.
Of course, I was just planning to install the suggested package as following:
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends xserver-xorg-hwe-16.04
Wish me luck.
@jxself: Thanks to you too for your

Hi, I have been trying to figure out a way to record my microphone and the
voices of people I am speaking with on a discord chat at the same time. I
have looked into OBS, but this application does not run on my computer

Hi,
Just wondering if it is possible to have a backlit keyboard on the Lenovo

Thanks!
"Surely those 'ROMs' can be released under the GPL by their respective

I don't mean colloquial usage of the term "ROM" used by the community but the
actual ROM; inside the computer that contained the software that lets it do
things like this:
Ubuntu's so-called "enablement" things also include a newer kernel. Ubuntu's
kernel includes proprietary junk. So be careful because by pulling in their
so-called "enablement" stuff you might also get their horrible kernel wit all
of its warts and general ugliness. You have been warned.
The package named "trisquel" is not essential at all. It is a metapackage.

for an explanation.
So, well, just install the package "xserver-xorg-hwe-16.04" and,
Hi everyone!
Very probably this question is typical but I have searched the forum and I
could not find a satisfactory answer to it.
I have tried to follow the procedure described here:

replacement of several
