Jami provides an apt repository. If you edit /etc/apt/sources.list as
root and add the line
deb https://dl.jami.net/ring-nightly/ubuntu_16.04/ ring main
You should be able to then run
$ sudo apt update

We are close to having a working netinstaller. I hope that after this
Friday's meeting it will be ready. In the meantime, it is possible
If I had to guess, given that I don't use trisquel anymore, it probably has a
year before being stable. As for when its beta, who knows...
Don't ever, ever upgrade to alpha operating systems unless you know the
risks. Just a heads up.
