It would be weird if they (or anyone) were universally liked. And the successful online business models often involve a more explicit 'selling-out' element than rock critics are likely to accept. From what I recall, an OK Go video (the Rube Goldberg one) was sponsored by State Farm.

Here were the dozen I settled on. Again, the idea was to spark discussion about how they have found or increased their level of fame using new media instead of conventional (mainstream, if you must) methods. I chose a few for compare/contrast purposes, and chose a few because I knew they would be
