[TV orNotTV] OT: DC comics to get massive "reboot"

2011-06-01 Thread Kevin M.
This has been making the social media rounds the last day or two. For those not in the comic book know, nearly all of DC comic books will hit the rest key, starting over with issue #1. Not the first time, but it is rare for an entire line to reset simultaneously as opposed to a character or title h

I guess the issue that I have is that there is an assumption that people are telling the truth about their age and gender (and income) when they sign up for Facebook, Twitter, etc. while I know that is not the case. I'm typically either just over 18/21 or over 100. Gender switches to suit my mood

You are correct that Pew's study said that only 20 million people (8% of Americans 12+) use Twitter -- but 92% had heard of it. Twitter is the kind of site where you do not need to register to see what someone says if you have a link to their profile page. But Facebook is the marketing/consumptio

I haven't watched the show and won't be watching this, but the format confuses me. My impression -- from the endless ads -- was that the winner would be judged solely on the quality of his or her voice, but if, after the first round, the appearance of each contestant is known to the judges, doesn't

[TV orNotTV] Paris Hilton is back on TV with a new version of the same show

Excerpt: Ms. Hilton is an attractive woman with proven talent for marketing and self-promotion, though as a reality heroine she seems a little passé — a Sony Walkman in an iPod era, a Friendster in the age of Facebook or, to put it in context, a single-process blonde in a triple-process world. Th

Well, I've actually glimpsed a few minutes of Red Eye on occasion. It strikes me as like a cable morning show such as the various forms of Don Imus and the Tucker Carlson wannabe on Morning Joe (Willie Geist, I believe). Yeah, I know Imus is radio simulcast, but that reflects the production va
