I’ve watched the British version for several years. Recently they started an
Australian version as well. It’s an hour long format. Quite often, it feels too
long. Would probably be better off doing it the British way, and spending an
episode or two at the end of each season with a “Unseen Bits”
I've got to admit that I love 'Would I Lie to You.' Both it and Taskmaster
are the only two comedy panel shows I watch religiously.
The key is in the casting of the teams, and not being solely reliant on
comedians. The UK version has actors, singers, presenters, newsreaders and
so on. It's always
I can only guess as to why Batiste is not as active in a non-band sense on the
show. My sense is that Batiste's creative energies are mainly focused on
non-Late Show projects, which is fine with me. Whether that flexibility was a
condition for accepting the gig, or it simply evolved that
"Taskmaster" was the British version--an American version had already
failed on Comedy Central. The CW was looking for Covid programming but
didn't have the patience here.
I would think that with the Kings ("Good Wife/Fight," "Evil") on board as
producers, this might have a chance. It's still
As I recall, Stewart said at the top of the segment that he could've booked
an all-Black panel "and you white people wouldn't listen," so he booked an
all-white panel. He probably should've booked someone other than Sullivan.

Really nice piece. Wish them the best. I have been on the line (in our case
losing) the fight with fucking leukemia with a close family member. Sucks.
But then, we were not as relentlessly (sometimes obnoxiously?) positive as
Batiste.
I am really into his “We Are” album (I will be shocked if he
Why not? They had such a success with Taskmaster.
(Yes, I’m still mad about that one.)

Mr. Batiste has 11 nominations at tonight's Grammys (he's also scheduled to
perform), but based on today's CBS Sunday morning piece, it may not be what
Stephen asks him about first on the next new Late Show.

I just watched the episode, and although Stewart as host calling one of his
guests a motherf*cker is not really proper hosting etiquette, the real
infraction was allowing Sullivan’s deeply uninformed and racially charged
opinions to share the stage with people who have studied this both
scholarly
Don Rickles did Mr Potato Head. John Ratzenberger did Hamm.

Estelle Harris, 93, with her distinct red hair, had been spottable in many
a series and movie dating back to 1977 before the "Seinfeld" role, and also
had a productive animation-voice career, e.g. as Mrs Potato Head (opposite
