UUCP is definitely old-fashioned. The best approach (in my opinion) is to NFS mount the file systems from the production server onto the test server, then use some utility to copy the raw files over. We use cpio. The syntax is something like this (run on the test server): mount -r ProductionS

We had a similar problem when the Deadlock Daemon's log file hit the 2GB file size limit after UV was running for a year. Apparently UOJ connections cause a lot of data to be thrown in there, and there is no built-in rotation for the log. If you're on unix or linux, try: ls -lh `cat /.uvhome`/uv
