But, but ...
I was taught since grade school that all important discoveries and
inventions were made by (mostly) Americans in (always) America.
Could it be otherwise? This understanding of our accomplishments and yes,
even destiny, has underpinned our unparalleled prominence on the World
Stage.
Hi Ron
The difficulty of getting reconnection with the server is a problem that
went away with Win2000. If I remember NT4 still does a lot with netbui
for this, although I don't think xp has netbui installed by default.
With the overhead cranes, you should be able to get shielded cable that

The only thing I can think of is to restrict Access to Universe for this

A Welshman flew a 'plane in the reign of the emperor Tiberius - you can see
the evidence yourself - there's a coin with a primitive 'plane on it and the
date on the coin says (in Roman numerals naturally) "TIBERIVS IMPERATOR" and
on the obverse "LXVI B.C."

Pardon my resurrecting an old topic (see discussions on 1/9/04), but under the idea of
looking at users sessions and controlling them, has anyone used Tandem in Unidata
6.0.X? What do you think? How difficult to set up is it?
Anything you can add would be awesome.
TIA

Brackets are required around field and file names if they contain spaces or
other non-alphanumeric characters.

OK thanks for the heads up on using SQL INSERT and UPDATE instead of ADO Recordsets
and also using the Prepared property. That made my program run about 7 times faster.

I have to disagree. We are running Norton Corporate edition on our UV

utilizing certain open ports we have for communication with remote
locations. I have been working with UV Servers for well over 10 years, and

Keith,
I'm expensive, true :) -- but PRC isn't that expensive!

When you are considering this age-old build-or-buy scenario, remember the
age-old arguments. What you build will be a first-shot, rel 1.0 of a

I use UOJ Not sure if the same approach can be done with Uniobjects.
But an idea that jumps to mind is to provide your developers with a suite of
classes other than the Uniobjects. In other words, put an abstract layer

Sounds like a pretty stupid idea to me.
Shut down unirpc and write something else instead.
Best option - buy redback and restrict access to the RBO designer. Then they
can only use the objects and their properties published.

This all sounds like an overkill. If you didn't want users / developers to

Look at BY.EXP. It returns a select list of "keys" separated by @FMs,
each "key" being "@ID @VM FIELD.VALUE". You'll need to manipulate it

Did you know the Americans weren't even the first to build a successful
aeroplane?
The first aircraft built that flew successfully (note my strange word
order :-) was built in 1896, in England.
Unfortunately, it had to be rebuilt, and the first successful flight was
(iirc) 1912.
