There are similar problems with the AirMax M. I had to downgrade to
5.6.9 then unlock the radio and go back to 6.x.x.

Rick,
If you SSH into the unit, could you share the output of:
cat /etc/board.info | grep fcc
What firmware are you using?
Both LBE-5AC-23 and LBE-5AC-GEN2 (updated version) have certification for
UNII-1/2/3, but the non-GEN2 versions would require an unlock code to
enable the Revised UNII
. Longest
link is about 1200 feet.

We use LiteBeam AC Gen 2 and LBE-5AC-23 successfully out to 3 miles. YMMV.
For .5 miles and less, we are starting to use Mikrotik 60Ghz

The original model needs the unlock code for the UNII, the newer, Gen2,
comes activated. They work fine for short shots 3/4 of mile or less:
anything longer move to the PowerBeams. The LBE's work much better then
the NBE's that have a funky antenna pattern.

I just checked a LBE-5AC-23 and it has the "revised U-NII
question. Its activated and I think all those channels are
selectable. Software is version 8.5.12

Anyone here know what's the deal with the LBE-5AC units? I've got several
that will not select the UNII bands. I've tried upgrading the firmware.
