I'm not talking about the theme.
But I noticed that some widgets from XUL are not drawn like gtk-widgets,
even if the devels do their best.
The widgets in firefox/thunderbird/prism/... are "emulated" gtk-widgets.
Please correct me if I'm wrong!
OOo:
AFAIK it's not handled like a "mormal" gtkMenuB

I've been toying with firefox beta and it does in fact use GTK theming now.

Ken and xl (once again great effort xl):
Do you think this might be a wonderful opportunity to attempt and ease
off of the stuck-in-this-mindset conservativism by implementing a small
yet significant change to Ubuntu?
I believe this can be accomplished by making the shift to Murrine with a

I agree 100%. I just posted that pic as an example of the menubar and toolbars.

If they don't want to add these changes to clearlooks we could go back to
ubuntulooks and add the code there. Either way it wouldn't be too hard.

Murrine is one of the two engines I considered changing to (either clear-looks
or murrine, then). I am guessing that murrine is much more flexible than
clear-looks. Personally, I like murrine very much ;-)

And I'm asking here all members of this list.
So please do not respond without arguments - also please respond if you
have something to say about. Else ..just to point here some vanity -
this is not the scope of this list.

This was the engine that had no reason to exist right? The one forked
from Murrine and could be done within Murrine?

You should try Aurora engine and Aurora Themes before (v1.3 AND 1.4)
some of them here (please check links from the page)
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=566881&page=2
(Aurora Borealis is a good example).
A .deb with the new Aurora Engine (v.1.4)
http://www.costmoon.ro/aurora/gtk2-engin
menu bars
that has been implemented.

Hi all,
After
Gummy version and the Glossy again. The previous glossy theme wasn't right.
Theres also a pixmap for the panel background. Tossed it in for fun.

Glossy Clearlooks...
I'll send out a gummy version in a little bit.
I used the clearlooks metacity and removed the button borders.

Hi all,
After discussing the ubuntu-looks engine with a few developers we have decided
to look into replacing it with clear-looks (or perhaps murrine) for Hardy.
This means that we need a gtkrc of the new variety (which one can change the
colors to afterwards) based on the current ubuntu theme.
