quadros fantasmas, quando visualizado em outros sistemas operacionais

Seu audio funciona normalmente, mas o problema seu não é o audio de
saída e sim o audio de entrada (microfone), todos os programas funcionam
o audio sim. Veja as configurações de audio do seu microfone em:

Tá. Mas todos os exemplos de funcionamento que vc deu são de reprodução.

Em seguida abra o RecordmyDesktop e veja se ele aparece na ,lista de
aplicativos que estão usando o dispositivo de som.
Caso sim, verifique o volume. Caso não, verifique se as configurações de
som no RecordmyDesktop estão para DEFAULT.

in this new version a few deprecated calls/functions are removed and
jockey depends on those removed functions.

I try to backport the patch into precise to make a test, so that I can
verify if it could fix the issue in 12.04.
I found the code is very big difference, the patch doesn't work for
precise.
