This is my idea: gnome-power-manager tries to dim the brightness of the screen after some inactivity and then reset it upon input. gnome-power-manager calls HAL to do the job. HAL has multiple methods of handling brightness of LCD panels. On dell machines, since hardy it uses a libsmbios.

Public bug reported: I have tested Fedora Core Test 6 in these days and found they finally got printing in gnome allmost right. You can easily control your printer's settings about: pages per sheet color or monochrome quality plus the other usual stuff. Also printing from openoffice.org seems
