Hello,
Eventually got it working. Due to trial and (lots of) error mostly.
Attached is my working xorg.conf. The screen resolution is now at
1680x1050 at 60hz (according to System - Preferances - Screen
Resolution).
I believe this is still a bug as this should all be sorted out
automatically. I

Modified my smb.conf last night to allow guest access. I then restarted
samba and all worked well. Now this morning when I turned it on sabma
has not started. When i run 'restart' it says it is ok, btu then it is
not running:

I cannot set my resolution to 1680x1050.
I have tried:
System - Preferances - Screen Resolution (Allows 1024x768 max, 4:3
only)
System - Administration - NVIDIA X Server Settings (Can get to
1152x864 max)
Also tried various x.org conf changes found on differing

I preformed a dist upgrade from hardy on my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop.
Now the keyboard does not work, at least on the login screen.
When I boot to the recovery terminal, the keyboard is working perfectly. Only
