So, I’ve compiled Ted’s branch from source and had to move around the
.panel-applet files because they were being put into the old directory.
After that I could add the indicators to the panel but they only
displayed No indicators and when running the indicators from the
terminal they refused
I don't understand why this has importance Low. It makes Unity
practically unusable for the given dual monitor setup...
Is this issue fixed in oneiric?

I'm not sure the console-setup/layoutcode parameter is the problem.
The problem I had was that the unattended installer asked for my
keyboard layout when I tried using Swedish keyboard layout.
I have now found parameters that work for me in Ubuntu 11.04 Alternative
CD for unattended installation

fix isnt working for me, still freezes.

I installed the carl9170 firmware and compiled the carl9170 kernel
module from compat-wireless package. (This might take about 10-15

cd /lib/firmware/

With my 8400m gs I could solve everything on 10.10 by turning all vsync
options (nvidia-settings compiz (manually set rate to 60)) on. This
still works for me in Natty in classic mode with compiz ON, but NOT in
unity which also uses compiz. I find this pretty strange.

Dmitry’s link is a vector SVG, what was shipped with Chromium PPA is a
PNG embedded in an SVG. Quite pointless.

Evolution is broken too with this change due to the different panels.
In Evolution when I hover over the text of an email, the scrollbar stays
faint, practically invisible.

Andrea, can you back out the fading change completely? I don’t think it
should be there at all. There should be no concept of inactive
scrollbars, they are all created equal and they don’t have »state«, like
windows.
