there is no mark all upgrades button in this version of synaptic package
manager.
yes i know there are other methods to mark upgrades but this is a useful
function which seems to have been part of synaptic for years.

situations improving on lucid used to be having to restrict the version of
xulrunner to get things to work now its simpler
as harry said in the duplicate (he made a link to the version in
xulrunner-1.9.2.8)
As a workaround, I made a symlink to /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.2.10/libmozjs.so in

On my aspire one netbook running beta3 ubuntu-one packages make nautilus
practically unusable, uninstalling them restores nautilus to its normal
snappy performance.

Serious consideration should be given to allowing the Netbook interface
in Lucid to persist in Maverick, while I understand people like to do
new things there are several aspects to the new interface which

Well interesting to see that inserting the modem after boot might make it
usable.
Up to now i have been unable to get any use of my E620 other than as a cd drive
and mass storage device.
However it might be of interest to electhor that i had no problems at
all with the E620 in 9.10 currently I
tried to use vodafone mobile connect but its uninstallable due to lack
of a gnome package. The E620 has been working in ubuntu since 2007 - not
any more it seems. unless the release date is pushed back. Its
reasonable to assume that there is going to be a lot of fustrated
netbook owners who can't
similar issues here , my E620 which worked fine under 9.10 is now only
recognised as a mass storage device and no longer as a modem this is
with the netbook remix version beta 2

I am currently running karmic on a fresh install on an aspire one.
Pulseaudio doesn't give a connector to have a choice between the internal mic
or external mic jack.
alsamixer does have a choice of i-mic or e-mic it just doesn't make a
difference.
skype uses pulseaudio server local for audio
linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic installed
result exactly as reported in post #36

I reverted the system back to karmic, (I am using it now).

The E620 Modem works perfectly well in karmic even with a live cd (using

there are a number of alternative models that may help the difference largely
is the availability of a connector for inputs
I've been experimenting and It may not be a pulseaudio issue, it may be
the snd-hda-intel driver being incorrectly loaded.

This bug can be worked round by using the undo feature to bring a column
back down, which is not ideal and will bring more smug bug reports until
the game can handle this issue
came across this on ubuntu karmic alpha 5 , It was nice enough to share
the cpu and luckily after rebooting the cpu usage was fine.

Karmic also effected with this problem but pulse audio had to be
uninstalled to get sound working for me. using the lenny version of
audacity mentioned in earlier posts allows recording to work.
with the pulse problems i've had my system isn't clean enough to confirm
its a problem with audacity.

Its not just me then I have had the same problem in fact I went so far
as to duplicate a game in an online sudoku and confirmed the numbers
used were valid and the puzzle solvable.
It's related to the undo routines you add a tracker and get stuck and when you

as eth8 it may be because this systems been rebuilt and moved between
pc's a few times over the years and had several different network cards

i renamed /etc/uswsusp.conf to olduswsusp.conf then
sudo dpkg-reconfigure initramfs-tools linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic
rather than
sudo dpkg-reconfigure initramfs-tools
the reason being that this is the kernel i am using yet i have linux-
image-2.6.24-21-generic on the
sudo apt-get install 915resolution
This patches xorg and allows 800x480 to be selected.

Can someone get the EEE PC hardware into the hardware database or at
least an entry for an 800x480 monitor.
These changes have made a simple edit to xorg.conf extremely difficult.
If ubuntu doesnt detect the hardware then you cant get the native screen
resolution.
i get a choice of 800x600 too
Bug effects EEE-pc as well has nothing for a 800 by 480 screen
i lost the proper resolution by turning off desktop effects.
