With the feisty 2.6.2.-rc6 kernel sata via is back to normal! However I
downloaded the stable 2.6.20 kernel and compiled it with the feisty
2.6.20-rc6 config file and the resulting kernel would go past the sata
via initialization but will stop at the raid initialization stage.

The wiki documentation is wrong, the file is created when bugxml is
executed the first time.
To get it just call bugxml once without arguments.

It's strange that edgy version is reported to work fine. I had exactly
the same problem yesterday (backup failed due to a flacky usb
connection), and the only solution was to remove the directory with
faulty backup.
I can confirm the problem still exists in edgy, then.

Well, the problem is that the wireless networking card stops working if
the kernel modules hostap_pci, prism2_pci and orinoco_pci are
loaded. I don't know why it works fine before upgrading the kernel, but
the solution is a blacklisting of hostap_pci and prism2_pci and
force loading orinoco_pci.

FWIW, My issue was I had a redhat-release file in /etc, which I've
created some times ago in order to make some work scripts targeted to
RHEL 4 work.
Deleting this file fixed this issue for me.
It was a bit hard to debug given the lack of error reporting from hal.

Click on the System-Report a problem menu item.
The url that opens in Firefox has /home/[user name]/ in front of it, so it
doesn't work.
Tested with latest packages in Feisty, as of the 10 of February 2007.

I get a black screen when gdm starts in ubuntu feisty updated at the day
11/Feb/2007 but if I boot the system in single user mode gdm starts
fine. The system doesn't lock up because I can log in using ssh. I'm
using radeon driver (OSS driver) but it seems that the kernel

This can be fixed by changing the 'terminal' entity in
trunk/xubuntu/libs/xubuntu.ent.
I'm attaching a patch, any objections to me committing it?

installed Ubuntu Edgy Eft 6.10 a few weeks ago.

I tried transferring about 1 GB of files to my external USB hard drive and I
