About the detection of the alternative CD. This is done in the ubuntu

Unfortunately there does not seem to be any clear difference between
starting times before or after the change. Looking at the strace logs
the total times are before 1.71s and 0.76s, and after 0.61 and 0.65. The
only one that stands out of those is is strace-before-1.log and looking
at it

retracing service is removing the tag but not attaching any traces.
Specifically the bugs are bug 96681, bug 96691, bug 96718, bug 96728 and

I have just noticed that there are still problems with QT selecting the
right font. It seems that only the default fonts Sans-Serif, Serif
and Monospace are substituted correctly, but not other sans-serif,
serif or monospace fonts. I have attached an HTML file demonstrating the
bug. In Konqueror,
would
time gnome-terminal -e exit
be a good benchmark?
