As I was informed, the USB_SUSPEND seems to be needed for many people to
be able to suspen/resume their laptops, and there are a *lot* of laptops
out there these days. I think it has to be fixed in the sane code, not
in the kernel, but there are not enough entries in Sane's bug
reports/mailing list

I have the scaling applet running at all times, and from what it shows
my CPU scales from 2GHz to 800MHz, pretty quickly when there's low load
(most of the time). Mem usage is also rarely 100% (768MB), so it seems
like the system load overall is also not very high for most of the time.

not support your card. The only solution is to use fglrx, you can enable

I can also confirm this on Kubuntu Edgy.
It works in the following way for me:
I have a home network with a Linux and a Windows box connecting to the internet
via a router. If the network cable is plugged in to the Linux box during

I think I had similar problem. After "clean" installation of Kubuntu
feisty beta amd64, nvidia driver did not work. After a full update the
problem was fixed.
However, I still have an error message in Xorg.0.log:
