But that relies on idle time and does not react to hitting Lock
Screen, in order to get a similar effect I would have to set it to a
minute and that's plain ridiculous for when I'm actually working on the
computer, I was requesting a way to manually trigger it in combination
with the Lock Screen

I've trying to reproduce this bug and found that the problem only ocurrs
as described:
if i use kdm as default login manager i cannot login to the session
after sabayon is installed.
if i use gdm i can login without
i have the same problem

This problem appears to have completely gone away upon running aptitude
update.
Appending piix to the modules file actually caused me NOT to be able to
boot the machine. I left the disk in the fdd and did an update. I
noticed on subsequent reboots that the fdd was not being spun up as it
was

Actually spoke too soon, i used sudo aptitude purge sabayon I thought
it did, but realized it didn't purge/remove it all. I checked again
sabayon-admin there is nothing in that directory.
