Tried installing Kubuntu Gutsy 7.10 onto a HP Pavilion a1323w. When booting
from the live disc i get a [37.964147] Kernel Panic-not syncing: IO-APIC +
timer doesn't work. I tried with the following options by themselves
apic=debug, noapic, acpi = off, all with no results.

I've also been having this issue since I got my laptop in November (Dell
M1330, Intel Mobile X3100).
I've had this issue both with World of Warcraft and Starcraft. It seems
all normal windows applications work fine such as the Blizzard
patcher, the Starcraft map editor, notepad, UltraEdit32, and

1) Plug in camera
2) Accept the import
3) Choose location
4) Try to open your newly imported photos with F-Spot, the manager.
5) The imported photos aren't in the manager.
The default photo import preferences are for gthumb
Clearlooks-based metacity (not gtk engine) themes are triggering this
bug but it's not obvious where the bug is. We're not ignoring this issue
but it's hard to track down and as far as I know upstream believes it
isn't their bug.

I've upgraded from 2.6.20-15-generic (its feisty, because gutsy .22 kernel
hadn't boot on my laptop). Hardy boots without problem, but in the beginning of

This is definetly a Gnome issue. As KDE has no problem at all detecting
the PCM. The problem here is that with the Thinkpad T61 some other
newer laptops the sound card no longer has a hardware mixer (otherwise
know as Master), now they only have PCM.

Gutsy, after security update to 3.0.26a, no longer access shares via
XBMC. I can sometimes view the shares, but never gain access. Error
1073741772 share not available message,and nonsensical messages
claiming I deleted the share. After a year no fix or explaination? This

I am facing the same problem on firefox 2.0.0.11 on dapper. I know this
is a difficult bug to resolve due to the inconsistency in reproducing
it. Even in my machine, the bug occurs more frequently at some times
than others (in the past 3 hours, it has crashed 4 times). Will post
