manager? Looking at the log it seems that it's still using the free
driver. It should work though, and if you like to debug it further you

I am running Ubuntu 7.10 64-bit. Whenever I leave the computer on for
more than one day without touching the keyboard, mouse or other input
device, the computer wont respond. The LCD screen goes to power save
mode, and pressing keys or moving the mouse wont show the screen.
Movies within Totem were blueish (polarized) for me. Changing Totem's
hue setting accomplished nothing. The picture always looked blue. I

The Add and Delete buttons are unavailable until you choose "Unlock", however
the same options on the context menu are still available. In the case of

I have the same problem on an Intel Inspiron 1100 that has an 845G.
However, if I remove "splash" from the grub line that boots the
computer, it can successfully start X nearly 100% of the time. So, a
work around might be to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and remove "splash"
from the boot line.

I've read through most of these posts, and I found a solution that might
help: Hold ALT and single-click/drag the window up until you see
buttons. Why this "secret" key combination is even necessary is a
mystery to me.
It's unbelievable to me that this long-standing problem still exists,
because
vmware server isn't provided by Ubuntu as a package and subsequently
this most likely a bug in the vmware software. However, perhaps
somebody at the support section of Ubuntu, answers.launchpad.net, will
be able to help you resolve / workaround this issue.
