Oh, sorry. What do you mean it's fixed? is what I tried to type. But
since it auto-changes language all the time it's really hard to get it
right. Seems it uses SHIFT-space to switch to Amharic, which is
apparently extremely easy to hit by accident, is really surprising, and
I just hit this same issue on a gutsy live CD. Have not tried lately on
gutsy proper.

Same here with latest updated Hardy. It worked perfect in gutsy, but
with Hardy it is detected but is then disconnected a few seconds
later. It does this in a loop until it is unplugged. See the dmesg
output below containing lines from when the device is plugged in to when

I can now also confirm that this does not affect the normal FTP protocol
in FileZilla. To reproduce a clean download:
1) Launch FileZilla
2) In the Host field, put in ftp.mozilla.org without the quotes or
another site which allows anonymous FTP downloads
3) Grab one of the folders to queue
I see. Since the input method provided by GTK+ and the one provided by

I installed compiz and tried to activate the gnome-wm again as the second user.

This problem appears to be corrected in Ubuntu hardy openoffice.org
1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking it as Fix Released. If after
upgrading you still have this problem then feel free to reopen the bug.

Ubuntu's 0.8.2ubuntu2 still misses this. Alternative to including this
would also to just disable the menu item since it's currently non-
functional anyway...
