Workaround... Once adept_updater has crashed, and before rebooting, open
a command shell window and execute the following commands:-
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install
Then reboot.

Kubuntu should automatically install openoffice.org-kde and so I am
reassigning this bug to kubuntu-meta to have a kubuntu person look into

I fixed this problem in my laptop using technique from limited to
UDMA/33 due to 40-wire cable, http://pixca.net/2008/02/03/limited-to-
udma33-due-to-40-wire-cable/. For those of you who are using Gusty, I

I also have this problem on Ubuntu Gutsy, with 2 DVD drives shown on my

that the version number path changed between these two as well, so it
will only try to upgrade you if you have nvu version 0.7, but nvu was at
