Both upstream openoffice.org 2.4.0~rc2 and Ubuntu's openoffice.org
1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 render oo-welcome.odt differently than each other
and the version in Ubuntu 6.10. I guess the next step is to try to find
an upstream version from 6.10 timeframe and see how it renders the
document then

Well, the Ubuntu folks never got back to me, but I found another solution
that is quite simple. I installed the Mandriva 2008.1 beta edition, and it
turned out to have all the drivers I needed. Don't be scared away by the

yep, i just spent hours figuring this out. in the end, i just did a
clean install, then fixed my /etc/apt/preferences to say:
Package: libc6
Pin: version 2.7-5ubuntu2
Pin-Priority: 1001
And it's going to stay this way until libc6 is fixed :x

No I believe it's not related to confirmation of age.
Rather I suspect it might be related to gnomevfssrc gstreamer element - which
also causes problem with gnash and youtube.
I have tried to force giosrc instead of gnomevfssrc - that made gnash work very
very well, but with totem it fails with

segfaulted immediately. My screensaver also came on after a time and

Ubuntu no longer boot after March 12th
Doesn't looks good. The d4x's author doesn't response my e-mail. Looks like
this project is down for good.
How about making another downloader based on d4x source-code and start

I can confirm. I just did an upgrade and it segfaults when to upgrade and sudo
core dumps. The system after upgrade is corrupt and when I rebooted I can not
log in because of segfault in the login.
