I'm affected by this bug too. It is really annoying and may be a real pain in
the ass for the average user. In Europe (especially here in Austria) internet
connection with GPRS/UMTS becomes quite ubiquitous. As long as NetworkManager
doesn't manage ppp connections reliably it isn't wise to let

I have a similar issue since Firefox3 Beta 4...
This is the dialog I get for PDFs...
I've deleted the entire .mozilla directory and that didn't change the
file open / save dialog for PDFs.

I have not tried Ubuntu 8.04 in the past few days, but I had the same problem
the last time I tried it (and with Foresight Linux 2.0, which I'm using now). I
will reload 8.04 tonight and see if it works for me now.
Does anyone know what changed in the most recent updates to resolve the
problem?
Tried Kubuntu Hardy and my rt2570 (Linksys WUSB54G V4) could not
establish a connection with my WPA2 secured network. It fails badly
although it recognizes it.
I will once again revert to using 'ndiswrapper'. How sad.

this is a serious regression!
I can confirm that in Gutsy worked. No matter if my battery is broken (30%
capacity)...I expect that g-p-m warns me and shuts my laptop down gracefully
(just like it did in gutsy).

in powertop is very good result, but there is no way to get into Xorg with this
settings. Nvidia drivers shows strange errors.
Please also look on dmesg. There is some kernel debug info..

ok, I did not have any problems with this in 7.10. My numpad on this HP
Pavilion DV9000 does not work after I login. works great before I login,
however after that, nothing, I can't use / * - + or the . keys either.
(+ acts as a single click, Enter is fine.)
